The Wand

In the past, injections of dental anesthesia by others may have been uncomfortable. We recognize this and take extra care when preparing a patient for anesthetic. We use a topical anesthetic on your gums first to desensitize them and then use The Wand, a computer driven system, to administer the injection very slowly and precisely to create a truly comfortable experience.

Low Radiation Digital X-Rays

Digital X-rays are taken with very low radiation. They require less time to process than traditional X-rays, use no harmful chemicals, and can be digitally enhanced or enlarged to aid the dentist in treatment planning.

Cavity Detecting Intraoral Camera

Our camera uses floresence technology to easily and painlessly detect tooth decay in it's earliest stages. Early detection is an important part of our practice philosophy of Minimally Invasive Dentistry.

Our camera is also a regular intra-oral camera and Dr. Divito uses it to help you better understand what is happening in your mouth. Using up-close imagery of your mouth and digital X-rays on a computer screen, Dr. Divito can show you exactly what the problem is and better explain her recommendations for treatment.

Minimally Invasive Dentistry

At our practice, we use minimally invasive dentistry, also known as microdentistry. This consists of techniques to help preserve tooth structure without overuse of “drilling and filling” and other invasive measures. Just as the word implies, this type of dentistry concentrates on using the least amount of dental intervention to conserve the health of your teeth. In minimally invasive dentistry, the removal of any part of a tooth structure is kept to only the minimal amount necessary to restore the tooth to its optimum state. This can be done in modern dentistry through the latest scientific advances.
